This is the new image that I want to use on my double page spread, I decieded to change the image as I prefer this one to be the bigger picture on the right hand page; I will still be using the other image but instead of having it as a big picture I will have it on the left hand page at the bottom, underneath some text.

This is the Magazine that I am taking inspiration from, I chose to use this magazine for inspiration as I like the way it is set up; I also like how there is a big ‘C’ in the middle of the page, and how the tow photos are positioned over the double page. I also like how there is a quote in the bottom left hand corner.

This is the first part of my double page spread, I have took a photo and edited it, I have also added the singers name at the top of the page. Uneath is a quote from the singer, I have not yet decided where the quote is going yet whether it is at the top or somewhere else. I have also added a ‘5’ in the middle of the page to make the page more eye-catching to the reader.

This is the next part to my magazine contents page, I have added the last part to the three columns and I have changed the ‘monthly’ to ‘This month’ and added that a CD comes free with this month issue. Next to this is a floral picture that I took of a folder and converted it to make a CD cover of the CD that comes free with the issue; with text on the right hand side explaining who made the album andf what it’s called. I still need to line up the text to make it look better.

Here I have added more text on the left hand side, and made it into a column. I have called the column ‘women in music’, this links to the Q magazine contents page that I am taking inspiration from, which has a similar column. I have added a list of singers (some real, some made-up) and underneath wrote some information about the singer that will come up in the magazine. I have changed the writing from Kalinga to a more feminine font to match the word ‘Women’.

This is the Magazine that I am taking information from, I chose to use this magazine for inspiration as I like the set-up and also how it is divided into sections, ‘Women in Music’, ‘every Month’ and ‘Features’. I also like the way the contents page has little pieces of information underneath the page numbers and headings

Analysis of Contents page

This is analysis of a music magazine contents page, I chose a magazine that I liked the look of. Something I notice is that it doesn’t even say contents anywhere, it just has the masthead of the magazine. The Image of the singer Duffy is quite large on the page takling up the majority of it. You might notice this magazine doesn’t say contnts anywhere, it’s still a strange characteristic to have in a magazine. This may be to appeal to the target audience. Underneath features it has a list of headings underneath, and has a paragraph of what to expect in the magazine (which has a little more text than most magazines do). I’ve also noticed that there is a small quote quote in the corner, which I think has been plaed there to make the readers think the singer is serious about music, and to make the reader think they want to know more.
